Salas Public Relations is more than PR.

The PR discipline is the cornerstone that supports the objective, strategic and creative thinking we bring to the table.  Our clients usually want more than traditional media relations support, so beyond that we get our hands into everything that supports building brand equity.  Each client need is managed independently by a collaborative team of professionals who come together for the purpose of serving the client.  Each SPR team is virtual, but sometimes they actually sit down together for coffee.  Vincent Salas, the company’s founder, works directly with each client and oversees the client teams.  The flat agency model allows for maximum flexibility of resources and saves the client money.  Entrepreneurs working together give each client bang for the buck.

About Vincent Salas

Vincent Salas is president of Salas Public Relations, LLC.  He founded his own company, building on 25 years of collaborative public relations and marketing experience throughout the world in both the corporate and non-profit sectors.  He is a seasoned, international industry award-winning communication professional with a strategic understanding of media relations, constituency relations, employee communication, crisis management, philanthropy, advertising and public policy campaigns.

During a 17-year career with AT&T, Vincent provided strategic executive counsel and directed the work of regional, national and international teams comprised of both internal and external communication professionals.  He was instrumental in developing the company’s globalization efforts in the 36 countries that comprise Latin America, and was recognized by the International Public Relations Association for his accomplishments in establishing the AT&T brand in Mexico.  He also supported the company’s business development efforts in the early transformation of AT&T from a long-distance enterprise to a communications company that offered voice, data, wireless and broadband services.

Prior to working with AT&T, Vincent served in various advertising and marketing roles in Austin and Tampa with The Rouse Company, when it was one of the largest publicly held real estate development and management companies in the United States.  During that time, he assisted with grand openings of developments in St. Louis, New Orleans, Denver and San Antonio.  Vincent also served as an advisor, at the invitation of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, for a Main Street project in Chicago.

His international experience began during his professional career with Up With People, Inc., an international educational and cultural exchange program headquartered in Denver, CO.  As marketing director and special events coordinator, Vincent led advance marketing and operations teams in support of Up With People’s educational visits and performances in Mexico, Finland, Italy, Sweden and the U.S.  He began his professional career as a journalist in Stephenville, Texas, where he helped establish a weekly newspaper.

As an independent communication specialist, Vincent builds virtual teams that serve local, state, and national clients with brand development, communication strategy development and execution, and executive counsel in areas of public education, Christian leadership, the arts, women’s health, social services, software development, motorsports, real estate development, finance and more.

As a volunteer, Vincent excels at fundraising and cultivating relationships.  He serves on the Development Board of The University of Texas at Austin. He was the founding chair of the University of Texas Libraries Advisory Council, a founding advisory board member of the Blanton Museum of Art, and recently a member of the university’s College of Communication Advisory Council.  He is a life member of The University of Texas at Austin Alumni Association.  Vincent provides counsel and support to the Texas Business and Education Coalition and the Texas Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.  He is a founding national life member of the League of United Latin American Citizens, and he has served as a corporate partner advisor to the Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce.  Vincent is a long-time supporter and advocate of public radio in Austin and is a regular contributor to the Austin American-Statesman.  He has been a long-time supporter of the Texas Book Festival and served as a founding board member for many years.  He enjoys speaking to public high school students on topics of sexual abstinence until marriage and the importance of completing a secondary education as a Texas Scholar.

Vincent is a Journalism graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and holds onto all the bragging rights reserved to him as a native Texan.  He is married to the former Bridget Molloy of Miami, Florida.  They currently reside in Austin, and are the parents of four children.
